There is a fundamental piece of the pie that often gets overlooked, when it comes to achieving success. That slice is: the journey. This is just as crucial as the destination. It's about respecting the process, embracing the struggles, and understanding that growth comes from challenges.
Since childhood, my journey has been intertwined with a deep respect for the process of success. Even during times when I was in the streets and my lifestyle was negative, that respect remained a guiding principle. My grind and work ethics were undeniable. I had a short lived career staying on the block in my neighborhood. I realized quickly, that I did not want to stay stuck in that position, so I learned the ins and outs of that dangerous game and climbed the criminal ladder, city to city, state to state.
When the Creator blessed me with the gift of writing, I applied those same work ethics to the product and game plan. Days and nights blur together as I poured my heart and soul into crafting a novel. Eventually, that one manuscript turned into: dozens of novels, independent publishing company and now one of my novels turned-film. Knowing that success is not handed out freely but earned through relentless effort, I ran up and down highways, doing book signings, speaking engagements, hosting events and dropping off cases in bulk, like I did with bricks. Now the time is approaching, to execute another mission based on my film journey. My novel, “Manz And ‘Em, novel has been screaming to be on the big screen for over a dozen years. That’s how long I’ve been working on getting it across the finish line. “Out The Gate Movie” is the creation and birth of that journey and process. Each word written, each scene envisioned, is a testament to my commitment to excellence.
The struggle is not a hindrance but a stepping stone, shaping me into a stronger, more resilient individual. It's during these moments of adversity that true growth happens. You learn, you adapt, and you persevere.
And when success finally comes knocking, it's essential to remember the journey that led you there. The late nights, the doubts, the sacrifices—they all played a part in shaping your success story. It's about maintaining the same work ethic and passion that fueled your journey in the first place.
To all entrepreneurs embarking on their own journeys, I wish you resilience, determination, and unwavering belief in your dreams. May your struggles be the catalysts for your growth, and may your successes be a testament to your dedication. Here's to respecting the process and embracing every step of the journey towards success.
